Local Philanthropy

Club Nova —> Club Nova was founded in 1987 and is nonprofit that serves the Chapel Hill and Carrboro area. They strive to serve people who have a serious mental illness through providing high quality programs. They have a Clubhouse where participants are considered as members, and while the clubhouse is not residential, it provides assistance and support to members. We raise money for Club Nova through our Kappasta dinner and have donated supplies to stock up their kitchen and office.  Learn more by exploring Club Nova’s website https://clubnova.org/what-is-club-nova/

Orange County Rape Crisis Center —> The OCRCC has a mission “to stop sexual violence and its impact through support, education, and advocacy” and has a vision to be “a world free of sexual violence and all other forms of oppression”. For the OCRCC we partner with other Greek Organizations to host a Benefit Night at a local restaurant. At these benefit nights we fundraise money to donate to the center. Eyes Ears Nose and Paws —> Beginning this Fall (2022), we are beginning a partnership with Eyes Ears Nose and Paws after having a tremendous amount of interest from our sisters. This organization partners people with dogs to improve livers. They are a nonprofit in Chapel Hill that trains and places assistance dogs to work with individuals with disabilities. Their Service Dogs assist people with mobility impairments like quadriplegia or Multiple Sclerosis. Additionally, they have Medical Alert Dogs that detect and alert to changes in medical conditions such as diabetes or epilepsy. Sisters will also have an opportunity to foster their puppies.
