At UNC Chapel Hill, all members of the Panhellenic Council take part in formal recruitment at the beginning of Fall semester. In the Spring each chapter has a more informal recruitment process. Here at Kappa Kappa Gamma, we value the women who go through the formal and informal recruitment process equally.
Dear Potential New Members,
Welcome to Carolina!! We are so excited that you are considering Panhellenic Recruitment. Although Kappa means something a little different to each of us, we can both agree that it has been the defining experience of our time at Carolina and that we are so lucky to get to call Kappa home. Being a part of the Panhellenic and the larger Greek community is an incredible opportunity to grow and make life-long connections. Becoming a sister of Kappa Kappa Gamma is truly an incredible opportunity to link yourself with women who will continually inspire you to become the best possible version of yourself.
Our chapter is more than 50 years old, and our fraternity more than 140 years old. Joining Kappa is joining a legacy that links you with the trailblazing women of the 19th century and connects you with some of the most innovative women of today. Although Kappa is an international fraternity, our chapter provides a loving home for our sisters and makes what can be a whirlwind college experience just a little bit smaller. Our chapter is incredibly diverse, encompassing UNC women from different states, ethnic backgrounds, academic careers, extra curricular activities, and all walks of life. We learn from each other every day and build friendships that really do last a lifetime.
Throughout our time at Kappa, we both have met our best friends who we can’t imagine life without and made countless memories that will stay with us forever. Panhellenic Recruitment can be exciting, nerve-wracking and uncertain, but we promise it will be worth it in the end. You will find your new home and wear your Greek letters with pride. We hope your letters are those of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Welcome to UNC and best of luck in Recruitment. We can’t wait to meet you!
